Gymnastics: LeBlanc takes all-around, Hanson earns trio of top three finishes to lead Little Falls over HLWW

Little Falls junior Rachelle LeBlanc claimed first place in all four events and the all-around competition to lead the Flyers to a 122.75-100.975 win over visiting Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted (HLWW), Tuesday.

LeBlanc took top honors on floor exercise (9.15), vault (8.9), balance beam (8.8) and bars (7.75), leading to first place in the all-around with a score of 34.6.

Senior Amanda Hanson earned second place on floor (7.975) and bars (7.3) and took third on vault (8.4).

Freshman Sarah Stout added a runner-up finish on beam (7.925) and took fourth on bars (6.3) and fifth on floor (7.3) and junior Taylor Axel earned fourth on vault (8.25) and floor (7.35).

Other top finishes were turned in by senior Diana Kempenich in fifth on beam (6.5), senior Caitlean Plumski in fifth on bars (5.6) and sixth on floor (6.85), sophomore Hailey Claseman in sixth on vault (8.1) and junior Stephanie Cluever in seventh on vault (8.05).

“There is still a lot of work to do and a lot of polishing of the routines, but the girls are willing and eager to continue to improve,” Little Falls co-head coach Shelley LeBlanc said. “It’s still very early in the season.”

Little Falls hosts Bemidji, Friday.
