Marlene Bromeling, 72
Marlene M. Bromeling, a resident of Long Prairie, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at CentraCare Health System in Long Prairie.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Long Prairie, with the Rev. Andrew Brown officiating. Burial was at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.
Marlene M. Bromeling was born Jan. 5, 1940, in Owatonna, to the late Lowell Sr. and Delma (Caspari) Mollenhauer. She grew up and attended school in Owatonna. After graduation, Marlene went to college for nursing and obtained her nursing certificate. She was united in marriage to Edward Bromeling, Oct. 17, 1959. The couple farmed with Edward’s parents until moving to Long Prairie in 1974. The couple then purchased a farm north of Long Prairie where they raised there six children. Marlene worked as a C.N.A. at St. Michael’s in Sauk Centre and at the Clarrisa Care Center for 20 years. She was a Home Health Aide for Todd County for 15 years. Marlene was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Long Prairie. She was a very active in 4-H, she was a 4-H leader for 30 years and also helped at the Todd County Fair the past three years. Marlene enjoyed all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included needlecraft, playing cards, baking and cooking. She will be greatly missed by her two youngest grandchild-ren, who spent a lot of time with grandma playing cards and telling stories. Grandma and grandpa meant the world to Johnny and Nicole and they will be lost without them both. Marlene and Ed were very special people and will be greatly missed by everyone.
Left to cherish her memory are her six children, sons, Lorin ( Judy) Bromeling of South Dakota, Lloyd (Kathy) Bromeling of Illinois; daughters, Donna Werner and special friend, Bill, of Burtrum, Debbie (Val) Pachulla of Little Falls, Danica of Little Falls and Denise (Byron) Gill of Swanville; brother, Lowell Jr. of Owatonna; cousin, Sandy Jirele of Owatonna; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and many special friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ed of 52 years; daughter, Dawn in 1964; parents, Lowell Sr. and Delma Mollenhauer; and sister, Lorriane.
Casketbearers were Doug Schmidt, Jeff Dinkel, Jack Galligan, Harley Hanson, Dick Grass and John Grass
