Who should plow outlying city streets?
To the Editor:
First, I want to express my sincere appreciation for those that remove snow from our city streets, county roads and state highways. They are dedicated, hard working and highly trained individuals doing a job that many of us could never do, not to mention with such accuracy and skill.
Then, just to mention, I do not presume to speak for all of the residents that live on Riverwood Drive (County Road 260) concerning the timing of the recent snow removal from our “city street.”
The city of Little Falls and Morrison County need to come to a better understanding by creating a Memo of Understanding (MOU) as to who, when, where, why and how Riverwood Drive (County Road 260) is to be cleared of snow.
We got our first major snowfall of this season Saturday, Dec. 8. Riverwood Drive was first cleared, and only once, Sunday, Dec. 9, and that was later in the day sometime by the county crew, I think. It snowed another few inches or more after that and traffic was leaving ruts for us to maneuver.
This is needed for safety of emergency vehicles, too. — Frank Rebnord, Little Falls
