Elinor Stroschein, 91
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 17, at First Lutheran Church in Little Falls, with the Rev. David Sperstad officiating. Burial took place in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Swanville.
Elinor was born April 30, 1921, in Minneapolis, to the late Emil and Ellen (Bjork) Bloomdahl. She was united in marriage to C. Hubert Stroschein, Jan. 2, 1942, in Pappillion, Neb. They were married for 68 years. During the time of Hubert’s military service they lived in California, Nevada and Washington State. After the military they farmed for several years near Hillman and moved to Little Falls in 1968. Elinor worked at Munsingwear for 13 years and had numerous other jobs during her life. She retired in 1980 and loved to travel and grow beautiful flowers. She spent 25 winters in Arizona and Texas. Elinor also traveled to Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Guam, Japan, Europe and also visited Sweden where her parents were born. Elinor held many positions at the Hillman Legion Auxiliary and was the first president. She was also very active in the Hillman Lutheran Ladies Aid for many years. At present, she was a member of First Lutheran Church where she attended Ruth’s Circle. She was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a patient, kind friend to all those who knew her.
Elinor is survived by children, Doug (Reni) Stroschein of Long Prairie and Kathleen Estelle of China; grandchildren, Shannon (Mike) Stevenson, Ryan (Chanti) Stroschein and Erin (Patrick) Nolan; great-grandchildren, Tierney Kai, and Cora Stevenson and Cormac and Teagan Nolan.
Elinor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hubert; and sister, Evelyn Hansmann.
