Nordic Skiing: Rutz, Little Falls girls cruise to first at St. Cloud Cathedral

Senior Chelsea Rutz took the individual title and three Little Falls girls Nordic skiers placed in the top five as the Flyers won Tuesday’s St. Cloud Cathedral Invite.

Rutz crossed the line first in 18:47, with junior Maria Hauer earning third in 19:02 and senior Mattia Hendrickson taking fifth in 19:42.

Junior Kaitlin Geisenhof took sixth place in 20:04, trailed by freshmen Amelia Kresha (21:43) and Claire Gammon-Deering (21:52) and senior Josie Lange (22:40).

In the boys race, junior John Gottwalt finished 13th overall in 17:40 to lead the Flyers to fourth as a team.

Senior Brian McNamara came in next in 18:29, followed by freshman Gunner Kleinschmidt (18:41), sophomores Michael Carll (19:19) and Ethan Crocker (20:33), Seth Crocker (21:01) and freshman Jacob Massmann (21:39).
