Anna was born Jan. 4, 1921, in Chicago, Ill., to Edward and Mary Kriel. Anna was the youngest of four children. She attended Guardian Angels Catholic School in Chicago for eight years. After eighth grade, Anna started working at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. She worked there for 19 years until she married her husband Louis June 19, 1954. When her husband brought Anna to the farm near Swanville, she developed a deep love for her husband’s family. In June of 1955, their first daughter Helen was born followed by Mary, Louise and Teckla in 1960. When Anna’s four daughters started school, Anna went to work at Larson Boats in Little Falls where she worked until her retirement in 1986. Anna was a funny and passionate woman. She was a woman with strong convictions who strongly believed in, always talked about, and firmly stood for the things she deemed “right” and “important.” She was a woman with high moral standards and was very passionate about the Lord, praying the Rosary daily. Anna loved her family and was like a “Mother Bear” if someone hurt one of her “Cubs.”
