The Little Falls Area Chamber of Commerce has named Timothy Hanson the January 2013 Employee of the Month. He is both the rental manager and part of the sales team at the Little Falls Hardware Hank on Broadway Avenue.
Hanson has worked at Hardware Hank for eight years, starting when he was 21 years old.
“I was working in the food industry and some of my customers were from Hardware Hank. I joked with them about giving me a job,” Hanson said. “Then one day, they told me to come to the store and apply. I have been there ever since.”
Hanson started in floor sales and became the rental manager in 2009. That job consists of matching the right rental tool with what his customer wants to accomplish. He also rents lots of moving equipment such as trailers and dollies.
The Employee of the Month also seems to be quite handy.
“If it’s broke, Timothy will find a way to fix it. He is always very helpful, no matter if he’s working or just stopping in,” said store supervisor Tonya Lashinski. “Timothy is a good asset to our store. He is very knowledgeable and personable. He’s always friendly to customers and fellow workers. We are excited to have Timothy named the January Employee of the Month.”
In his spare time, Hanson enjoys working with wood and said he is able to build just about anything he needs. He especially likes to make shadow boxes and table lamps.
Hanson’s talents will come in handy as he recently purchased his first home.
He also has fun with modifying cars by adding lights, accessories or changing the suspensions.
Hanson said he enjoys the hardware business and enjoys working with his seven co-workers.
“It’s a good atmosphere here,” he said. He also said he would like to thank whoever nominated him, as he is honored to be the Employee of the Month.
For receiving this honor, Hanson received gift certificates from Broadway Stylists, Perkin’s and Pizza Ranch. He will receive flowers from Falls Floral, a cookbook from St. Gabriel’s Hospital Hospice Program and have his photo taken by Silker Studio.
