John Allen Green, 34, St. Cloud, was charged Wednesday, with one felony count of fifth degree possession of drugs and one misdemeanor count of driving after revocation by Morrison County Attorney Brian Middendorf and his staff.
On Dec. 22, a State Patrol Officer observed a vehicle with an equipment violation. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Green.
Dispatch informed the officer that Green’s driving privileges had been revoked and that there was a felony warrant out for his arrest.
Green was placed under arrest based on that information.
The officer then noticed a folded dollar bill on the front seat next to the driver’s seat. When unfolded, the officer noticed small crystal-like rocks. He was unable to identify the substance.
The officer also found a folded $5 bill on the driver’s seat. When unfolded, he noticed a white crystal powder which tested positive for methamphetamine.
In the glove compartment, the officer located colored tubes taped together, The tubes contained white powder which also field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
If convicted, Green faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine.
