Harold Villnow, 60

obit-VillnowHarold A. Villnow, a resident of rural Pierz, passed away peacefully with his family at his side Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at his home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Shelley-Virnig Funeral Chapel in Pierz with Chaplain Jim Neppl of Heartland Hospice officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Harold August Villnow was born Nov. 27, 1952, in Princeton, to Harold E. and Alice (Peterson) Villnow. Harold was united in marriage to Sandra Bentz, Dec. 8, 1973, in Milaca. Harold loved life, his family, farm and especially his grandsons. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spearing, his Minneapolis Moline tractors and working the land. Harold farmed for 37 years with dairy and beef cattle.

Harold is survived by his wife, Sandy; sons, Shawn of Pierz and Nate (Sylvia Storkamp); grandsons, Colton and Justin Villnow of Burtrum; daughter-in-law, Joan (Hunter) Villnow of Frazee; mother, Alice Villnow of Milaca; brothers, Van (Liz), Loren (Sue), Tom (Char) and Ken; sisters, Lori (Leroy) Herboldt, Margaret (Gene) Packard, Judy (Larry) Secord, and Karen Broehl; many cousins, nieces; nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his son, Christopher; father, Harold E. Villnow; nephew, Jesse Villnow; grandparents, August and Leola Villnow and Carl and Lena Peterson.

Pallbearers were Tony Langer, Dave Templin, Van Villnow, Loren Villnow, Tom Villnow, Ken Villnow and Karen Broehl.
