A severe mid-game drought turned a 15-10 Pierz lead into a 33-15 lead for visiting Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (LPGE), Friday.

From there, the Thunders’ ball-control offense did the rest, limiting the number of possessions for each team down the stretch and draining the remainder of the clock in a 44-30 LPGE win.

Senior Mitch Bednar scored nine points and Templin had eight to lead Pierz, followed by seniors Ben Boser (4), Cullin Carter (3) and Jess Kasper (3) and freshmen Jonny Kasper (2) and Aaron Weber (1).

Bednar and Carter each pulled down six rebounds, with Bednar blocking three shots.
