Girls Basketball: Pierz ends up on top in see-saw battle with Long Prairie-Grey Eagle

A 43-point second half outburst carried Pierz to a 73-67 victory over visiting Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (LPGE) in a game that saw 20 lead changes, Tuesday.

Junior Bridget Bednar scored 18 points, senior Mickey Rocheleau notched a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds and senior Alyssa Boser scored 15 points and dished out eight assists to pace the Pioneers.

Senior Megan Boser and sophomore Kayla Carter each scored eight points, junior Tiara Hopkins added four and sophomore Shelbie Boser chipped in three.

“We played a nice game offensively as a team,” Pierz head coach Rich Teske said. “There were not very many turnovers and we rebounded the ball well.”
