obit-Bieniek-EEdward P. Bieniek, a resident of Little Falls, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN with Father Jimmy Joseph officiating. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Parish Cemetery in Sobieski, MN. Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Friday and from 8:30-9:30 AM on Saturday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Parish prayers will be at 5:30 P.M. on Friday evening. Funeral arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN.
Edward Peter Bieniek was born June 7, 1928, in Swanville, to the late Ignatius and Rose (Stegura) Bieniek. He attended District #52 country school. He was united in marriage to Bernadette Schneider June 9, 1952, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg. Together they farmed in the Swanville area until 1973, when Edward began employment as a custodian in the Little Falls School District. He retired in 1992. Edward was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, where he served as an usher. Edward enjoyed fishing, woodworking, welding, repairing farm machinery, gardening and playing the concertina.
Edward is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bernadette; son, Timothy Bieniek and wife Mary of Hoffman; daughter, Patricia Karpinski and husband David of Little Falls; grandchildren, Christopher Bieniek of Phoenix, Ariz., Jessica Harris and husband Peter of Scottsdale, Ariz., Erica Karpinski of Little Falls and Benjamin Karpinski and wife Stephany of Little Falls; and great-grandchildren, Michael and Sadie Harris and Breyah Karpinski.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Ignatius and Rose Bieniek; brothers Andy Symanietz, John Symanietz, Tony Bieniek, Eugene Bieniek, Harry Bieniek, Damus Bieniek and Richard Bieniek; and sisters, Monica Hennek, Veronica Campagna, Mary Beardsley and Florence Sobiech.
