As it has for 15 years, the Pierz Knights of Columbus (KC) will host its buffalo feed and raffle in memory of Gen Boser. And as it has for the past 15 years, the KCs will donate half of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society.
The buffalo feed will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m., at the Pierz Ballroom. The Waltzateer Band will entertain the crowds during the evening. More than 100 cash prizes will be given away during the grand raffle drawing at 8:15 p.m. The grand prize is $1,000 cash from an anonymous donor along with 50 pounds of buffalo meat, donated by Curtis and Jim Theis of Pierz.
The Theis brothers also donate all of the buffalo meat used during the feed and “sell a lot of tickets,” said Debbie Woitalla, who helps take care of the books for the buffalo feed.
Tickets are available from any of the Pierz KC members and Pierz area businesses. Anyone who would like to have tickets mailed to them, may call Allen and Debbie Woitalla at (320) 277-3860.
The Pierz KCs have been the Relay for Life’s gold sponsor over all those years, donating nearly $100,000 to the American Cancer Society over the past 15 years. Most recently, the donations have hit the $20,000-plus mark.
The other half of the proceeds benefit the Pierz KCs.
