Despite trailing the entire first half, the Pierz boys basketball team rallied to pull out a 58-52 win over Rockford Area at St. Cloud State, Friday.

Seniors Jess Kasper and Mitch Bednar posted double-doubles and seniors Ben Boser and Cullin Carter also reached double figures to pace the Pioneers.

Kasper scored 17 points and Bednar netted 12, with each adding 11 rebounds and three blocks.

Boser drained 14 points, Carter had 11 and senior Jon Fuhrman contributed four to round out the offense.

“We didn’t have the lead until the 14-minute mark in the second half, so I’m proud how we came and fought back, didn’t give up and came away with a ‘W,’” Pierz head coach Matt Poepping said.
