Girls Basketball: Rocheleau scores career high as Pierz rallies past Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa

Pierz overcame a six-point halftime deficit, allowing only 11 second-half points to defeat visiting Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE) 54-41, Tuesday.

BBE led 34-28 in the opening minutes of the second half, before the Pioneers battled back to take a 38-37 lead.

From there, Pierz went on a 12-0 run to break open the game before closing out the win.

Senior Mickey Rocheleau tallied a career-high 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Pierz.

Junior Bridget Bednar scored 12 points and senior Alyssa Boser had nine points and four assists, with each grabbing five rebounds.

Sophomores Kayla Carter (6), Kailey Egan (3) and Shelbie Boser (2) and senior Megan Boser (2) also scored.

“We did not play very well the first half of the game tonight, but the second half we played great defense,” Pierz head coach Rich Teske said.
