Brian Lee Reece, 22, Swanville, was charged Jan. 23, with one felony count each of second degree assault with a dangerous weapon and making terroristic threats. He was also charged with one misdemeanor count of domestic assault.
On Jan. 20, a report of domestic assault was received at the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies responded to a residence in Culdrum Township and met with the victim.
At the residence, officers found Reece asleep. They woke him up and placed him in handcuffs. Reece, who smelled of alcohol, allegedly acknowledged he had been in an argument with the victim and that he had pointed a loaded gun at her.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told officers Reece had pushed her to the ground and held the gun to her head, saying he was going to blow her brains out. She later discovered there was a bullet in the chamber of the gun.
The gun, taken from the home by a third party who got the victim out of the house, was later turned over to law enforcement.
If convicted, Reece faces a maximum penalty of seven years imprisonment and/or a $14,000 fine.
