Protect children; stop abortion

To the Editor:

I think we all agree it was tragic that 20 young children died in the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary. We have heard the outcry of the media and political leaders since Dec. 14, 2012. In a speech on gun control President Obama stated, “We must protect the most vulnerable.” He also spoke about the fundamental rights of all people.

January 22 was the 40th anniversary of Roe vs. Wade. Since then, 55 million vulnerable unborn babies have been murdered because of legalized abortions. What about the rights of these children? Where is the outcry from Obama and the liberal news media?

I  hope we could all agree that the deaths of these young children are also tragic. I pray that Obama will truly work to protect the rights of all people.

The good news is that because of the pro-life movement, the number of active abortion clinics in America has dropped from 2,100 in 1992 to just over 650 today.

There are at least 85 crisis pregnancy centers in Minnesota. As these centers began turning the corner with the use of ultrasounds, pro-life state legislation began to take hold and the Internet allowed the pro-life perspective to flourish, abortions have declined. — Mrs. Joseph Bleess, secretary, Todd County Pro-Life, Long Prairie
