Rosi and Joe Przybilla have become new owners of Marshik Insurance Agency in Little Falls. As of Jan. 1, Craig Pearson took a partial retirement and the ownership changed hands.
The Marshik Insurance Agency was originally started in 1966 by Richard Marshik. Pearson, who was an employee since 1980, purchased the business in the early 1990s.
“We are excited about this new venture,” said Rosi. “I have always wanted to own a business and told Craig that when he retired, I wanted to have the first chance to purchase Marshik’s.”
Joe, who said his involvement will be limited to stopping in occasionally to say “Hi,” is fully supportive of Rosi’s decision to own the agency.
The staff at Marshik Insurance consists of Denise Czech, Mary Brutger and Kristi Anderson. Pearson will be staying on, part-time, for several years. The five agents bring more than 112 years experience to the table.
The Przybillas were both born and raised in the Buckman and Pierz areas. Joe is currently a co-owner of Mitchell-Przybilla Auction Company and he works at Ziegler in Brainerd.
“We are both active in the community, volunteering on several boards and committees,” said Rosi. “I am now a member of the Chamber of Commerce Lindy Greeters and a Morrison County Safe Roads Coalition member. Joe assists with the Pierz Snowmobile Training class each fall and together we do many benefit auctions each year for various organizations and fundraising benefits.”
The Marshik Agency also sponsors the Morrison County Food Shelf, hosting two annual drives which Rosi plans to continue.
Marshik Insurance offers 24/7 online services for its customers to be able to access information anytime. It also offers a mobile app and Web site capabilities for its customers to stay in touch as well as a Facebook page under Marshik Insurance Agency.
Marshik Insurance Agency’s motto is “Service the way you want it, when you want it.”
For the most part, Rosi said she has no plans for any changes to the agency. But, she does hope to see the company grow and that she is able to increase staff in the future to assist her with her prior duties.
“I do plan to be on the road more with new businesses and current clients,” she said.
