Sixth-ranked Browerville has only lost two games this season.
However, both of them have been dealt by Upsala, as the fourth-ranked Cardinals knocked off the host Tigers 63-56, Friday, to remain undefeated and seize firm control of first place in the Prairie Conference.
Upsala started the game strong, dashing to a 5-0 lead in the opening 30 seconds, before Browerville responded with a 12-2 run to go up 12-7.
The game remained close the rest of the half, with the Tigers entering the break ahead 33-32.
Browerville opened the gap to six with the first five points of the second half, but Upsala slowly whittled away at the Tigers’ lead to tie the game at 41-41 with 8:18 remaining.
Upsala continued to push the pace, going ahead by five, but the Tigers stuck close, pulling back within a point at 49-48.
