An Albany man who broke into a residence carrying a machete in Elmdale Township, was arrested Tuesday.
Morrison County deputies responded to the report of a burglary in progress in Elmdale Township, with possible gunshot fire. The call came into the Sheriff’s Office about 6 p.m. When deputies responded to the residence, the suspect had fled the scene. Deputies were able to determine no gunshots were fired, but that the suspect had gained entry into the residence by kicked in the front door, while carrying a machete.
The suspect, Corey Troy Pirttila of Albany, 23, was located at a residence in Albany and taken into custody. He was transported to the Morrison County Jail and is being held pending the filing of formal charges.
