Possession of a rifle puts Baumer, a Foley man in prison

Joseph Henry Baumer, 33, Foley, was convicted Feb. 12, of one count of felony possession of a pistol/assault rifle in Morrison County District Court. On May 3, 2012, Morrison County Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in southeast Morrison County. They located drugs and drug paraphernalia inside and a stolen trailer outside.

Also found was a .22 caliber long gun in the bedroom believed to belong to Baumer. Because Baumer had been previously convicted of third degree burglary, a crime of violence, he is ineligible to possess a firearm. Baumer was sentenced to 36 months in the Correctional Facility in St. Could and fined $135.
