Sheriff’s Department responds to two accidents Tuesday
The Morrison County Sheriff’s Department responded to two accidents Tuesday, one involving three vehicles near Buckman, and a one-vehicle accident near Morrill, attributed to icy roads.
About 4:20 p.m., Lisa Yeager, 28, of Pierz, was traveling north on 355th Avenue one-half mile north of Nature Road near Morrill, when she hit an icy patch and lost control. Her vehicle rolled into the ditch. Yeager was taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle to be checked out.
Later in the evening, about 9 p.m., Steven Block, 46, of Pierz, was stopped in the middle of 260th Avenue near 83rd Street in Buckman because a flat tire had caused his lights to go out. Ralph Gerads, 48, driving a Centra Sota tractor/trailer out of Albany, stopped to help Block. While attempting to move Block’s vehicle from the road, Cassidy Giambrone, 19, of Royalton, was driving south and ran into the back of Block’s vehicle, causing it to crash into the tractor trailer.
Giambrone was transported by personal vehicle to the hospital to be checked out.
Giambrone’s and Block’s vehicles were totaled, while the tractor/trailer sustained minor damage.
