Justin Michael Mayberry, 34, Detroit Lakes, was charged Feb. 15, with one felony count of fifth degree controlled substance crime by Morrison County Attorney Brian Middendorf and his staff.
On Feb. 14, A Minnesota State Trooper stopped a vehicle after noticing the driver, Mayberry, was not wearing his seat belt.
The Trooper smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and conducted a search, finding a loose hypodermic needle and a package of 10 needles. He located a glass pipe with white residue, which later field-tested positive for methamphetamine, and a spoon with heavy burnt residue on it.
Mayberry was placed under arrest and transported to the Morrison County Jail were he allegedly admitted using methamphetamines for the past two and a half weeks.
If convicted, Mayberry faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
