Granite Ridge Boys Basketball: Eckman shoots Little Falls past Albany

Little Falls maintained sole possession of first place in the Granite Ridge Conference (GRC) with a 70-53 pasting of visiting Albany, Tuesday.

The Flyers cruised to a 36-19 halftime lead, then maintained their 17-point advantage throughout the second half to improve to 11-2 in GRC play.

Senior Collin Eckman led the Flyers’ offensive attack with a 19-point night, joined in double figures by junior Troy Scott with 14 points and senior Spencer Lubbers with 12.

Senior Jake Scott and sophomore Bryce Zawatzke each added seven points and senior Travis Spillum picked up six, while Lubbers led Little Falls with nine rebounds and four assists.

Cathedral gets better of rematch with Flyers

Little Falls only trailed by two at halftime, but host St. Cloud Cathedral pulled away down the stretch to earn a 70-55 win, Feb. 15.

Eckman had 16 points and three assists and Lubbers recorded 14 points and six rebounds to pace the Flyers, with Jake Scott contributing nine points and Zawatzke recording six points and seven rebounds.

Little Falls defeated Cathedral in the first match-up between the teams 80-71, Jan. 15.

The Flyers are scheduled to host second-place Mora in a crucial GRC contest, Feb. 23.

Mora won the opening meeting between the two teams 63-61.
