Loss of temper cost Brainerd man jail time and restitution
Dustin James Dombovy, 27, Brainerd, was convicted Feb. 13, in Morrison County District Court, with one felony count of first degree damage to property and one fifth degree count of misdemeanor assault.
On June 1, 2012, an assault was reported in the Little Falls Coborn’s parking lot. Officers located Dombovy, who matched the person they were looking for, walking along 11th Street Northeast.
The victim in the incident arrived and said he apparently did not see Dombovy as he pulled out in front of him which made Dombovy upset.
When the victim parked, Dombovy ran up to the car, kicked it and punched the victim twice in the face, breaking his necklace.
Dombovy admitted to the assault.
Dombovy was sentenced to the St. Cloud Correctional Facility for 13 months, stayed for five years and spent 30 days in jail. He was fined $50 and ordered to pay restitution of $1,502.83. He will be on probation for five years.
Dismissed against Dombovy was one misdemeanor count of fifth degree assault and one misdemeanor count of failing to obtain a new driver’s license after changing his address.
