Swanville couldn’t quite keep the momentum going into its Section 5A playoff opener, falling 50-33 at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley (WHA), Monday.

Senior Marissa Evans led the Bulldogs with 13 points and five rebounds, while sophomore Steph Koetter had seven points and a team-high six rebounds.

Senior Abbey Schultz and sophomore Danica Hanson each scored four points, senior Tiffany Barthel contributed three and junior Nikki Primus chipped in two.

“It is never easy to end a season, especially when you know it was the last game for our five seniors,” Swanville head coach Aaron Gapinski said. “Their dedication and leadership will be missed greatly. They have made a positive impact in this community in many different ways. Their willingness to always help out someone else is what sticks in my mind.”

The Bulldogs finished the season with a record of 5-18.

Seniors on this year’s team for Swanville included Tiffany Barthel, Marissa Evans, Rachel Muhlenkamp, Chloee Larson and Abbey Schultz.
