Central Minnesota Boys Basketball: Boser drains 28, but Braham tops Pierz in rematch

Senior Ben Boser did a little of everything against visiting Braham, March 1, finishing with 28 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

But Braham used a fast start to prevail 84-73 in the end in a rematch from two months prior, when Pierz emerged on top in overtime.

Junior Matt Athman followed Boser with 12 points and six rebounds.

Senior Josh Templin and freshman Aaron Weber each added five points and the trio of sophomores Kyle Becker and Robbie Skiba and freshman Jonny Kasper netted four apiece.


Huskers edge St. John’s 

Holdingford closed the season with a tightly-contested 47-44 win at St. John’s Prep, Feb. 28.

Junior Jeremy Springer netted 12 points, senior Alex Hiltner scored 11 and senior Beau Maciej chipped in eight to lead the Huskers.

Pierz and Holdingford are both scheduled to open the Section 6AA tournament, Thursday, with Pierz playing at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle, and Holdingford traveling to Sauk Centre.
