Van Tram, the owner of Magic Nails located in Lora B’s Plaza in Little Falls, opened We’re Hair on Broadway Avenue Feb. 21. Located at 68 East Broadway, it is in the former City Nails location.

“I purchased City Nails in May 2012,” said Tram, who has been working on transforming the space ever since.

“While it wasn’t my original plan, I was approached to add a hair salon to my shop. I wasn’t sure about that since I don’t know much about hair, just nails,” she said.

With help from her employees, it got off the ground. Tram purchased all new equipment, painted the walls soft colors, added cherry wood counters, shined up the floors and transformed the salon into a warm and welcoming business.

“I want people to walk into my shop and feel good. I don’t want them to leave because they don’t feel comfortable,” Tram said. “I also want my employees to make money and I want to grow and hire more people.”

Currently, We’re Hair employes seven people. The business offers hair cuts, perms, styles, nail designing and tanning.

“We have two tanning beds. One horizontal one and a vertical one,” said employee Rhonda Zilka.

We’re Hair will make appointments, but will also take walk-ins.

We’re Hair offers Aquage and Redkin hair products and the Crew line for men.

Tram’s current dream is to utilize all the space she has at We’re Hair by moving the tanning beds to the back of the shop to a currently unused room, and adding facials and massages to the rooms in front. She is also planning to open a third business in Sartell in the fall.

Tram graduated from Glamour Beauty College in Santa Ana, Calif., before opening her first business in Little Falls. She currently lives in Sartell with her husband Eric Nguyen and their three children.

Tram came to the United States from Vietnam in 1999 to marry Nguyen and she became a citizen in 2003. Most of her family have immigrated to Minnesota and some work with her in Little Falls.

We’re Hair’s grand opening will last the entire month of March. Tram and her staff are offering many deals during that time.

“We also offer $2 off haircuts every day, not just during our grand opening, to all emergency personnel such as firefighters, police and sheriff’s deputies, along with the military,” said Tram.

For more information or to make an appointment, contact Tram or one of her employees at (320) 616-6886.
