The script was similar to Royalton’s playoff opener heading into its semifinal match-up against Onamia, Monday, but the ending turned out slightly different.

After defeating the Panthers 49-44 in the regular season, the Royals came up just short in another defensive struggle held in Mora, falling 38-35.

Royalton carried a 19-12 lead into the break, but was unable to work the ball inside in the second half, allowing Onamia to rally.

Senior Luke Wentland led the Royals with 11 points, while senior Ethan Zimny netted eight and senior Matt Silbernick scored seven.

Royalton finished the season with a record of 10-17.

Seniors on this year’s team included Ethan Zimny, Justin Opatz, Luke Wentland, Matt Silbernick, Stephen Strusz, Lucas Snyder and Brad Woidyla.
