Harriet Horvath, 77
Harriet Jean Horvath, a resident of Motley, died Monday, March 11, 2013 at Lakewood Care Center in Staples.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, March 16, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley. Interment will be at a later date at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, north of Little Falls, near Camp Ripley.
Arrangements were with the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
Harriet was born Feb. 17, 1936, in Minneapolis to Mary (Anderick) and John Durbis. She graduated from Minneapolis Edison High School. In 1958, Harriet married Eugene Paul Horvath. Harriet was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where she was active in the St. Monica’s Circle. She enjoyed lake life; fishing, boating, walking and spending time with family and friends. Harriet also loved to travel and enjoyed many winters in South Carolina with Paul.
Harriet is survived by her husband, Paul; daughter, Paula (Tom) Daniels of Little Falls; sons Tom (Sandra) Horvath of Hampton, Va. and David Horvath of New Market; seven grandchildren; sisters, Donna Jackson and LaVerne Illies; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Nicky, John and Andrew; and sisters Marion, Anne, Helen and Irene.
Memorial are preferred to St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley or to one’s favorite charity.
