Madeline Voigt, 90

obit-VoigtMadeline Voigt, a resident of Pierz, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Pierz Villa Nursing Home in Pierz.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, March 16, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, with Father Kenneth Popp officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. Cloud Monday, March 18, at 10 a.m.
Madeline H. Voigt was born July 26, 1922, in Montrail County, North Dakota, to the late Joseph and Mary (Pusc) Oderman. The family moved to Pierz from North Dakota in the early 60s. Madeline was united in marriage to Milfred Nygard and had two daughters, DeLylia and Darlene. Milfred died at a young age due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis. She was united in marriage to Wilbert Voigt and had one son, Rodger. Wilbert died in 1965. Madeline continued living in Pierz. She worked as a laundress in the laundry department at the St. Mary’s Villa Nursing Home in Pierz for 30 years. Madeline had a hardworking and fun-loving spirit that was a joy to be around. She enjoyed being with family and friends, playing bingo and cards. She was an excellent story teller and really enjoyed “Ole and Lena” jokes. Madeline was loved by many and dearly loved her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz and the Pierz American Legion Auxiliary.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, DeLylia (Pete) Baumgartner of Bismarck, N.D., Darlene Rocheleau of Pierz and Rodger (Becky) Voigt of Fairbanks, Alaska; grandchildren, Allen Nygard, Debbie Fuhrman, Dean Rocheleau, Darin Baumgartner, David Rocheleau, Dawn Baumgartner and Dan Rocheleau; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Milfred Nygard and Wilbert Voigt; son-in-law, Russ Rocheleau; and siblings, Ralph, George, Gilbert, Robert, Marie, Margaret and Helen.
Casketbearers were Dean Rocheleau, Dan Rocheleau, Allen Nygard, Darin Baumgartner, Mark Fuhrman, Kyle Fuhrman and Josh Rocheleau.
