Vnuk sentenced for violating an order for protection
Dennis Robert Vnuk, 46, Little Falls, was convicted in Morrison County District Court with one felony count of domestic abuse and one gross misdemeanor count of domestic assault.
On Sept. 1, 2012, Vnuk was charged with one gross misdemeanor count of domestic assault with subsequent violations.
On Sept. 25, 2012, a Little Falls Police Officer responded to a complaint of a violation of an order for protection against Vnuk. It was learned such an order had been issued Sept. 4, 2012, stating Vnuk could have no contact with the victim.
At that time, Vnuk told police he had been in contact with the victim Sept. 25, 2012.
For the gross misdemeanor conviction, Vnuk was sentenced March 13, to 15 days in jail, stayed for two years, fined $135, and given unsupervised probation for two years.
For the felony conviction, Vnuk was sentenced to 15 months in prison, stayed for 10 years, and 30 days in jail. He was fined $135 and given supervised probation for 10 years.
One felony count of domestic assault was dismissed because Vnuk pleaded guilty to the felony violation of an order for protection and the gross misdemeanor assault with consecutive sentences in two other files, Assistant County Attorney Todd Kosovich said.
