The Morrison County Ducks Unlimited (DU) chapter was recognized Feb. 9, by Minnesota Ducks Unlimited during the state convention for its annual spring dinner banquet and other achievments in 2012.

As 2012 marked Ducks Unlimited’s 75th anniversary of conserving wetlands in North America, it marked the eighth year of shallow lake and wetlands conservation in Minnesota through the Living Lakes Conservation Initiative, which achieved a conservation milestone of investing $7.319 million. Overall, DU enhanced, restored or protected 33,979 acres in Minnesota in 2012.

Currently DU has 62 projects under way representing 58,230 acres in Minnesota. The Morrison County DU Chapter was acknowledged at the convention for being ranked the number nine chapter in the state of Minnesota.

In 2013, the DU chapter has many things planned starting with the 37th annual DU banquet Friday, April 19, at the Falls Ballroom in Little Falls and the second annual Shawn Killeaney/Morrison County DU golf event Friday, July 26.
