To the Editor:
I’d like to commend for outstanding behavior the Little Falls Community High School band students who in March participated in the Cruise Festival on board the Liberty of the Seas ship. They all represented their school and community extremely well.
I’d also like to thank Jonathan LaFlamme for providing this opportunity to students in our community. This trip was an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience that opened up the world for students in many ways — from the time they spent on board with a college music professor, to the multicultural awareness they gained by visiting Mexico.
We in Little Falls are very fortunate that our school board and administration continue to support the music program in our school district. Music is a critical part of education that prepares students for success in math, science and higher-order thinking skills. Plus they have to work very hard with many team members, which provides excellent preparation for the real world. So thanks also to the school board and administration, as well as Mr. LaFlamme and everyone else who works so hard to keep our music program strong. — Jennifer Burr, Little Falls
