2013 Morrison County Record All-Area Girls Basketball Team

Guard

Aimee Pelzer, senior, Upsala

Pelzer, the Record Player of the Year, led the Cardinals to their first-ever trip to the state tournament this winter, earning a spot on the Class A All-State team and was one of only two Class A players selected to the all-state third team. She averaged 22.1 points, 8.5 assists and 6.9 rebounds per game.

 

Guard

Jamie Jenks, senior, Little Falls

As the team’s only returning starter, Jenks embraced her role as the Flyers’ leader this winter, guiding the team on both ends of the court. Jenks averaged 16 points per game while taking on the brunt of opponent’s defensive pressure, tallying 27 twice, while also averaging four steals per game.

 

Forward

Marissa Evans, senior, Swanville

Evans cemented her place as one of the top players in Bulldogs history with a stellar senior season, nearly averaging a double-double with 17.1 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. She finished her career with 1,294 points.

 

Forward

Tracy Herzog, senior, Upsala

Herzog was a centerpiece of the Section 5A champion Cardinals’ attack in the paint, averaging a double-double during the season with 16.2 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Herzog also picked up 74 assists, 63 blocks and 56 steals and reached the 1,000-point milestone.

 

Center

Bridget Bednar, junior, Pierz

The lone junior on the all-area team, Bednar provided the Pioneers with stellar production at both ends of the floor in their third-consecutive winning season. She posted 11.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game, earning a spot on the All-Central Minnesota Conference team.
