Eleanor Jabas, a resident of Little Falls, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, April 13, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, with Father Joseph Herzing. Burial was in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church Cemetery in Bowlus.
Eleanor Lucille Heatherston was born Oct. 13, 1918, in St. Paul, Ramsey County, to the late John Heatherston and Mary Hodnett (Heatherston). She grew up and attended Mechanic Arts High School in St. Paul, graduating in 1936. She worked for Adolf and Shetka Sons for over 30 years. Eleanor also worked for the St. Paul Public Library for 10 years. She loved being Irish. Eleanor enjoyed sewing, crocheting and embroidery. She loved singing and was an avid reader. She was a member of Our Lady Lourdes Catholic Church in Little Falls, the Edgewater Coffee Club and T.O.P.S.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Lawrence “John” Selb of Little Falls; stepson, Dave (Amy) of Apple Valley; stepdaughter, Ann of St. Paul; sister-in-law, Lorraine Tepel-Heatherston of White Bear Lake; grandson, Lawrence Young; two stepgrandchildren, Christopher and Molly Jabas; two great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Heatherston; husbands, Lawrence John Selb and John Jabas; sister, Mary; and brothers, Richard, Bernard “Bernie”, Cyril and Leonard.
