Veronica ‘Vern’ Otremba, 81

obit-Veronica-OtrembaVeronica “Vern” Otremba, a resident of Pierz, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, April 11, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, with Father Kenneth Popp officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Veronica “Vern” Seppelt was born March 20, 1932, to the late Thomas and Cathryn (Suchy) Seppelt. She attended and graduated from Onamia High School. She was united in marriage to Wilfred Otremba June 28, 1955, at St. John’s Church in Lastrup. The couple lived in Fridley, where Vern worked for Telex until 1964. She then worked at Honeywell for 30 years. In 1994, the couple retired and moved to Center Valley (Pierz). Wilfred died in 2004. Vern continued living in Center Valley (Pierz) until her death. She enjoyed embroidery, reading, fishing, traveling to see family, friends and sightseeing and gardening. Vern treasured her time spent with her family especially her granddaughter, Emily. Vern was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Christian Mothers and American Legion Auxiliary. She will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She led an active life until her death.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bryan Edward Otremba of Dickinson, N.D. and Bradley Allen (Karen) Otremba of Inver Grove Heights; granddaughter, Emily Otremba of Inver Grove Heights; siblings, Richard (Rose) Seppelt of Lastrup, Eugene (Margaret) Seppelt of Lastrup, Frederick (Debbie) Seppelt of Hillman, Adella (Leander) Kapsner; and Marcia (Gary) Koering of Phoenix, Ariz. and brother-in-law, Edward (Olette) Otremba of Fridley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Catherine Seppelt; husband, Wilfred J. Otremba; and a sister, Joanne Gross.
