Benefit planned for young man with spinal cord injury

A spaghetti dinner benefit will be held Saturday, April 27, at the American Legion in Royalton, for Jeremy Zimmerman, son of Dennis and Maria Zimmerman, of Sauk Rapids. The event will begin at 3 p.m. with a social hour, followed by a spaghetti dinner from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., and a live auction at 7:30 p.m. A silent auction and other events will also be held throughout the evening.

Zimmerman has endured a number of medical issues due to a diving accident in August 2012, causing a C5 spinal cord injury. Along with lengthy hospital stays, Zimmerman will require ongoing care.

Proceeds will be used to cover Zimmerman’s expenses and home renovations for his needs.

An account has been established and donations can be dropped off at any Bremer Bank. The account is under the name “Dennis or Maria” and people are asked to put “Jeremy Zimmerman” in the memo line. Donations may also be dropped off at Henry’s Farm Supply, home of Halfway Jam, south of Royalton, or at the 10 Spot Bar and Lounge in Royalton.
