MaryAnn Schweigert, passed away April 20, 2013.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Thursday, April 25, 2013, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Motley, with Father Joe Korf officiating.
MaryAnn was born to Charles and Clara Otremba, March 5, 1923, in Harding. She grew up on the family farm. She went to school in Little Falls and later to beauty school in Saint Cloud. She moved to Highland Park, Ill., where she owned a beauty shop. She met the love of her life, Hilmer (Red) Schweigert, at a USO dance in Highland Park. They married July 1, 1947. They moved to Lincoln in 1952. To this union came five children. She was a very active lifelong member of St. Michael’s Church in Motley. She led the rosary before mass for many years. She was a member of St. Monica’s and St. Ann’s.
She is survived by daughters Kathy (Rich) Braun and Mary (Ken) Dukowitz and sons, Charlie (Brandy), David, and Francis (Jeanne).
She was preceded in death by her mom and dad; little brother, Ralph; grandparents; granddaughter; two sisters; several nieces, aunts and uncles.
