Baseball: Silbernick tosses shutout, homers as Royalton splits with West Central

Senior Matt Silbernick shut out visiting West Central Area on three hits to help Royalton gain a doubleheader split, Tuesday.

Silbernick also fanned six batters as Royalton took the opening game 5-0.

Helping Silbernick at the plate were sophomore Brady Moulzolf, who went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs, as well as sophomore Jordon Smieja, who doubled and knocked in two runs.

West Central Area bounced back to take the finale 5-1, with Royalton’s lone run coming on a Silbernick homer.

Eighth-grader Nathan Psyck struck out four in 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
