A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierz, with Father Kenneth Popp officiating. Burial was at St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery in Pierz. Military Honors were conducted by the Pierz American Legion Post 341.
Victor was born April 27, 1921, in Buckman, to the late Joseph and Angeline (Sand) Hiemenz. He was enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946. After his discharge, Victor worked on the family farm, dug wells and worked at Franklin Manufacturing in St. Cloud and retired from Anderson Processing in Little Falls. He was united in marriage to Josephine Czech Feb. 11, 1947, at Mayhew Lake. On Feb. 4, 1985, his wife of almost 38 years, Josephine, of almost 38 years passed away. Victor later married Clara (Betty Francis) Virnig May 31, 1986. Victor enjoyed fishing, playing cards, camping, spending time with family, and was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his sons, David (Judy) of Little Falls, Dennis (Margie) of Clearbrook and Michael of Little Falls; daughters, Karen (Donald) Boser of Pierz, Joyce (James) Ringwelski of Little Falls, Linda (Donald) Carlson of Royalton and Renee (Bob) Retka of Long Prairie; step-children, Ron (Bev) Francis; Jack Francis, Mike Francis, Gene Francis; Carol Francis; and Susan Francis; brother, Eddie (Marcy) Hiemenz of St. Augusta; sister, Leona Juetten of Pierz and 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Angeline; daughter, Janet Grittner; wife, Josephine and second wife, Betty; brothers Emil, Ray, Lawrence, Alfred, and Herman; and sisters, Clara Schmolke, Ella Locheider, Marie Wacker, and Alma Hiemenz.
Pallbearers were Brian Boser, Jason Boser, Tyler Retka, Marc Hiemenz, Krissy Eizenhoefer, Angie Dalton, Jessica Ringwelski and Mitchell Retka.
