Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 23, at Lincoln Hills Bible Church, Sioux Falls, S.D.
Connie was born Sept. 19, 1945, in Cushing. She was the second oldest child of Eliot and Elsie (Gregerson) Kjeldergaard. She graduated from Little Falls High School in 1963 and went on to attend Wadena Vo-Tech. She married Wilbert Nelson Aug. 8, 1964, in Lincoln. The couple was involved in church planting in North Dakota for 10 years. The family moved to Canton, S.D. in 1992. In addition to 18 years of service at the Canton Good Samaritan Society, she served as the pastor’s wife of First Baptist Church in Canton. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbert; children, Kristine (Tony) Lynch, Belleville, Ill., Eileen (Kirk) Brown, Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada, Marla (Jason) Huston, Sioux Falls, Sarah (Ryan) Woods, Sioux Falls and Rebekah Nelson, Fargo, N.D.; grandchildren, Daniel and Josiah Lynch, Benjamin and Kyle Brown, Joylee and Koda Huston and Leviathan, Zachariah and Micah Woods; sisters, Kathy Hyatt, Terri Holmgren, Rosie Bollin and Nelda Martinson; and brothers, Steven Kjeldergaard, Ralph Kjeldergaard, Walton Kjeldergaard and Dennis Kjeldergaard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Melvin Kjeldergaard, and sister, Daryel Karjala.
