Area Boys Golf: Little Falls’ Erdman attains All-Granite Ridge honors, Pierz’ Herold medals twice

Senior Andrew Nooter and sophomores Landon Atkinson and Josh DeCann each followed with rounds of 85, freshman Reed Hines had an 86 and sophomore Michael Orr posted an 88 as the Flyers placed third as a team.

 

Atkinson leads LF in GRC finale

Little Falls wrapped up GRC play at St. Cloud Cathedral, Wednesday, with Atkinson leading the Flyers to third place with an 82, while Erdman secured a fourth-place finish for the season and All-GRC honors with an 87.

Hines (90), Orr (90), Nooter (93) and DeCann (107) rounded out the Little Falls lineup.

Herold claims medalist honors at Kimball, BBE

Pierz senior Dustin Herold extended his lead atop the Central Minnesota Conference (CMC) standings by claiming medalist honors at Kimball Area, May 10, and at Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa (BBE), Monday.

Herold shot a 38 to lead the Pioneers to third at Kimball, with junior Evan Woitalla posting a 47 and juniors Matt Athman and sophomores Ethan Lochner and Josh Rocheleau all putting together rounds of 49.

At BBE, Herold once again delivered a 38 as Pierz turned in its best finish of the season as a team, closing eight shots behind leader Rockford Area in second place.

Woitalla (43), eighth-grader Nathan Poster (48) and Athman (49) also scored for the Pioneers.

 

Herold, Lochner guide Pierz at Apollo, Flyers and Pioneers compete at pre-sections

Herold fired an 80 and Lochner scored an 89 as Pierz took 16th place at Wednesday’s St. Cloud Apollo Invite.

Woitalla (92), Poster (100), Rocheleau (107) and Athman (109) capped the Pierz lineup.

Little Falls and Pierz also battled adverse weather conditions at the Pre-Section 6AA meet at Sartell, May 11, with the Flyers taking eighth and the Pioneers earning 12th.
