Senior Spencer Fenske and junior Kyle Boser teamed up for 15 strike outs in back-to-back complete-game wins as Little Falls swept visiting Foley 3-0, 3-2, Thursday.
The evening couldn’t have started much better for Little Falls, as senior Josh Wenzel led off the bottom of the first with a homer.
That ended up being all Fenske needed, as he fanned eight in a six-hit shutout.
Sophomore Bryce Zawatzke also homered and scored twice in the game.
Game two required a more dramatic effort, as the Flyers were held scoreless through five innings, trailing the Falcons 2-0.
Wenzel then opened the sixth with a single, stole second and came around to score on a base hit by senior Collin Eckman.
Senior Matt Stumpf followed with a walk to set up Fenske’s game-tying single, then Zawatzke beat out a fielder’s choice to bring home what proved to be the game-winning run.
Boser held Foley to five hits in the complete-game effort, striking out seven.
Wenzel picked up three more hits to finish the doubleheader 5-for-8.
