Prairie Conference Softball: Osakis zips through Swanville, Upsala and Royalton

Swanville finished up Prairie Conference play with a pair of doubleheaders, falling 18-1, 14-4 to visiting Long Prairie-Grey Eagle (LPGE), May 16, and 10-0, 12-4 at Osakis, May 17.

Senior Marissa Evans and junior Jackie Panek each had two hits in both games against LPGE, with Barthel adding two hits and Evans homering in the second game.

Freshman Haileigh Sales and Evans had two hits apiece in game two against Osakis.

 

Osakis knocks off Cardinals to wrap up Prairie play

Upsala closed Prairie Conference play against eventual champion Osakis, May 16, falling 11-2 to the visiting Silverstreaks.

The Cardinals were within two runs after four innings before Osakis busted the game open in the fifth.

 

Royals fall in regular season finale

Prior to having its postseason opener pushed back three times due to rain, Royalton watched Osakis pull away late for a 13-3 win in a game played at Upsala, May 16.

Osakis held a narrow 3-2 lead after four innings before erupting for 10 runs in its final three at bats.

Junior Jacquline Nichols went 3-for-3 with a triple, run and two RBIs for Royalton.
