Domestic assault charges brought against Crystal man

Charges of felony domestic assault were brought May 16 against Myron Kenneth Hart Jr., 30, of Crystal, by the Morrison County Attorney’s Office.

The Little Falls Police Department responded to a noise complaint that reported it sounded like people were fighting at 3 a.m., May 15.

At the scene, a woman was sitting in the back yard of the residence crying while people were yelling inside the residence. A man, later identified as Hart, was standing in the front yard with no shirt on and holding two cans of beer. He allegedly appeared to be highly intoxicated.

Officers cleared and were called to St. Gabriel’s Hospital to investigate a report of a woman who had been assaulted. The victim had a large cut above her lip and blood on her shirt and face and was complaining of pain in her right leg. The victim allegedly told officers she was at a party at the residence the officers had just left and that her boyfriend, Hart, had beaten her up.

The victim allegedly told officers Hart swung at her several times and struck her in the face, which caused her to spin around and fall to the ground. Once on the ground, Hart allegedly kicked the victim several times.

Hart’s criminal history shows he was previously convicted of domestic assault in November 2005 in Morrison County and in October 2007 in Hennepin County.

If convicted, Hart faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
