Pierz announces its top 10 students for the class of 2013

5-19-13-Pierz-Top-10Pierz Healy High School has announced the top 10 students for the graduating class of 2013. Listed in alphabetical order, they include:

Alyssa Boser, the daughter of Steven and Cheri Boser, plans to attend the University of Mankato to pursue a four-year degree in dental hygiene. During her high school career, Boser was active in volleyball, basketball, track, the National Honor Society (NHS), Pierz Leadership Council, Peer Helping, band, jazz band, choir and Spanish.

Bethany Broschofsky is the daughter of Joanne and Keith Broschofsky. During her high school career, Broschofsky was active in cross country, track, NHS, Business Professionals of America (BPA), Where Everyone Belongs (WEB), youth group and was the girls basketball statistician. She plans to attend the University of Minnesota – Duluth, to major in integrated elementary and special education.

Will Corbett, the son of Tim and Bridget Corbett, was involved in cross country, track, Knowledge Bowl, BPA, NHS and jazz band during his high school career. This fall, Corbett plan to pursue a degree in elementary education at Concordia College in Moorhead.

Jasmine Kruschek, the daughter of Kim and Jason Kruschek, spent her high school career being involved in NHS, Peer Helping, band, the prom committee and was a WEB leader. Kruschek is undecided about where she will pursue a post-secondary education, but plans to major in elementary education.

Kailee Monson is the daughter of Nancy and Ronald Monson Jr. Throughout high school, she was active in WEB, volleyball and NHS. This fall, she plans to attend St. Scholastica in Duluth to major in psychology and minor in law.

Angie Santiago, the daughter of Luis and Lisa Algarin, was active in track and field and powerlifting during high school. Santiago plans to pursue a career in business management, but is undecided as to which college she will attend.

Sara Schlegel is the daughter of Mark and Nancy Schlegel. During high school, she was involved in BPA, WEB, Peer Helping, the prom committee, softball, tennis, Spanish Club and was a member of the NHS. Schlegel plans to pursue a business management degree at North Dakota State University.

Elias Schomer is the son of Howie and Kelly Schomer. During his high school career, Schomer was involved in band, choir, football, cross country, basketball, track, NHS, BPA, Knowledge Bowl, jazz choir, honor choir and the Pierz Area Coalition.

Liza Stangl, the daughter of Brian and Dana Stangl, plans to attend the College of St. Scholastica to pursue a degree in social work. During high school, Stangl was active in Peer Helping as co-chair, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) as secretary, Knowledge Bowl, concert choir, jazz choir, book club and was employed at Meadow Ponds Assisted Living.

Miranda Woitalla, the daughter of Brian Woitalla and Paula Welle, will attend Winona State University to major in nursing this fall. In high school, Woitalla was active in volleyball, dance, softball, NHS, Peer Helpers and the Spanish Club.

Graduation ceremonies for the Pierz class of 2013 will take place Friday, May 31, at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Athletic Complex at Pierz Healy High School.
