Victory League Baseball: Sadlovsky leads Lastrup to weekend sweep

Jason Sadlovsky doubled and homered to open the weekend, then pitched a complete game to finish it as Lastrup defeated the host Pierz Bulldogs 8-4, May 18, then tripped up visiting Harding 2-1, May 19.

Sadlovsky drove in four runs and scored twice against Pierz, with Nate Janson adding two hits and two RBIs.

Craig Luberts homered for Pierz.

Against Harding, Rick Schlieman collected two hits and two walks while Sadlovsky drew three free passes and scored a run to help his own cause.

Joe Tuholsky tossed 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief for Harding.

In other Victory League action May 19:

 

Buckman 12, Pierz Bulldogs 1

Buckman ran its record to 3-0 with a 12-1 washout over the host Pierz Bulldogs, led by massive games from the trio of Shawn Lanners, Travis Kahl and Jeremy Payne, who each homered and combined to drive in nine runs.

Paul Herman went 2-for-3 with a double for the Bulldogs.

 

Sobieski 14, Pierz Brewers 6

Sobieski raked 20 hits in a 14-6 demolition at the Pierz Brewers, with seven players compiling multi-hit games for the Skis.

Beau Hanowski and Tyler Jendro each had three hits, homered and combined for 10 RBIs, while Aaron Hennes and Joey Hanowski added three hits apiece.

Greg Pohlkamp drilled three hits and Jerron Boser homered for the Brewers.

 

Nisswa 9, Fort Ripley 6

Nisswa plated five runs in the top of the ninth inning, including three on a two-out double by Aaron Jenkins to overtake host Fort Ripley 9-6.

Drew Boland added three hits and two runs for Nisswa, with Ray Austin going 3-for-4 with four RBIs for the Rebels.

 

St. Mathias 6, Cuyuna 1

Josh Haberman tossed a three-hitter as St. Mathias won a rain-shortened seven-inning contest 6-1 at Cuyuna Range.

Brandon Owen went 2-for-2 with two RBIs for St. Mathias, with Kylan Hill collecting two hits and a run for the Miners.

 

Avon 6, Opole 4

Kyle Collins fired four innings of no-hit relief to lead Avon to a 6-4 win at Opole.

Taylor Holthaus provided the Lakers with a double, home run and four RBIs.

Zach Bialka went 2-for-4 to lead Opole.
