A family graveside service was held Thursday, May 30, at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Assembly Lane 2.
Walter was born Dec. 13, 1930, in St. Paul, the son of Joseph and Lillian (Bily) Gorgoschlitz. He grew up in St. Paul where he attended school. He enlisted in the United States Army July 31, 1950, and served in the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged Aug. 13, 1952. Walter enjoyed fishing, camping, bowling, watching football and baseball games, and spending time in Bullhead City, Ariz.
He is survived by children, Walter Gorgoschlitz of Ingleside, Texas, Wanda Gorgoschlitz of Pine River and Diana (Tom) Theis of Buckman; two grandchildren, Joel Roggenkamp and Amy Roggenkamp; great-granddaughter, Nicole Scott Thorsen and former spouse, Eleanor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Gorgoschlitz; brothers, Robert and Joseph Gorgoschlitz and grandson, Brandon Gorgoschlitz.
