obit-Pietrwoski-BenBen Pietrowski, a resident of Little Falls, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at the Quiet Oaks Hospice in St. Cloud.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 7, at the Camp Ripley Chapel inside the main gates of the military base with Father Joseph Herzing officiating. Burial was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.

Ben was a native of the Little Falls area for much of his life, having been born there, and having graduated from Little Falls High School in 1952. He left Little Falls to serve in the Army, which included an 18-month deployment to Germany. Upon his return, he graduated from Dunwoody Institute as an auto mechanic and lived/worked in the Twin Cities metro area. Ben married Betty Retka, June 30, 1958. After buying his first herd of cattle in 1957, he juggled farming and being an auto mechanic for many years, before returning to farming full time. He resided at the same residence the rest of his life. He enjoyed all things outdoors; hunting, fishing and especially farming. If anything surpassed his love of farming, it was the overwhelming joy he found in being a grandpa.
